It's nice, but not really spectacular I think. You had the entire house to do with what you want and you only did a couple of small things? It's like painting one wall in a museum pink when you had the paint to bomb the entire building..

I disagree with the anonymous who wanted something more spectacular. I think it's entirely appropriate to quietly inhabit the building one last time in a mood of reflection and with a light touch. This greatly enhances the poignancy of these spaces as they hover for a moment between decades of no doubt often boisterous habitation, and nothing.

I agree with both of you. I would have liked to had seen more time for the project. The bomber mentality really doesnt go places for me. I would prefer quality over quantity.

These pieces are not something you can just slap together. I would not be surprised if the project itself only involved local materials. (the house)

time to die.
are we photographers or street artists?

oh, i based the last comment on the fact that i hadnt clicked on the photos to see the detailed works. im afraid this house WAS bombed. i dont think you uhh clicked the photos either mr anonymous.

this is an amazing project everyone, and with what short time you did have i am astonished with the quality and amount of work that you did.

im curious, did you leave all the materials behind? or did you rescue your creations?

I'm not sure which mr anonymous you're referring to but I'll put my hand up. I did look at some of the photos before commenting, but not all. After checking them all out I agree that some show a lighter touch than others in coming to grips with the house physically, but I like the subtle complexity of the ideas. I guess, for me, the lightness of touch is in the works' lack of bombast. Some parts of the house have, as you say, been bombed, but mostly to probe and peel rather than obliterate or impose with a big hollow gesture. And nice job with the documenting. The photos are highly effective and the old snapshot of the house is an important little bonus.

Hi to all the anonymous. I’m hoping they are more than one person. I am not anonymous. I suppose I take on the curator position on the project of course along side the other artists and especially along side Campbell Drake who originally came up with the idea and who’s family holiday house it was. I feel the website gives a fair indication of what we were up to for short amount of time. As you can see from the bulldozer scene, which happened only a few days after documentation, the piece has gone and to answer one, yes most works went with it.
I was interested to read the comment by one who said we could have done more. It of course is a question you ask yourself as an artist all the time but of course along side the possibility that one could have done less. It is a fine line. But I do appreciate the critical analysis.
We spent quite a long time before working, discussing many notions on working together and with the house. Of course so much is just that and then when the work starts it follows its own course. For me as an artist I felt liberated to just work on a piece for the sake of creating with others, the house, and to work through issues I have been considering with my practice. This seemed to be the overriding pleasure that all artists involved felt.
After leaving the house and looking back over footage I felt there was something quite powerful about the experience that I wanted to find a way to allow ourselves to re-experience it and of course allow others a chance also. Hence the site you see.
Keep posting and thanks for sparing time to consider the project. Constructive criticism is a valuable commodity and don’t be afraid to add your name. I promise we won’t come over and “renovate” your house if you say anything negative! Also while I am shelling out thanks, thanks to Campbell Drake and family for the opportunity to work with the house.

Cheers Robbie Rowlands

Hi everybody, I was the critical anonymous - nice to know these blogs are frequently visited and one can stirr up some discussions! Let me start off with saying that I do really appreciate the project as a whole and absolutely love some of the specific pieces (Matt Morrow's work is genius!). And I do agree the level of 'artistic alteration' fits well with the idea of the family holiday house - it asks for a certain respect and silence. The only thing is that it's my opinion that saying goodbye to such a house should not be whispered but cried, shouted and screamed! My family has a holiday house and I'd rather blow it up as a statement before it was bulldozed down. A smack in the face rather than a tap on the shoulder. A personal point of view, I know, but then these projects are too.

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at this forum. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For quite a long time, I earn money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I make 2G daily, and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I managed to catch a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my web site to get additional info.
